Michelle Brooks Evans
Synagogue Chair

Michelle lives in Greenwich with her husband and four children. She has had a varied professional life from the Chief Statistician of The International Group of P&I Clubs, which provides marine liability cover, to owning and running a business teaching Postnatal exercise to new mums.

How she found her way to Bromley Reform Synagogue is encapsulated in the quote by Lynn Schusterman:

“A Jewish community that is diverse and openly embraces all who seek to lead actively Jewish lives will be a Jewish community that is stronger and more enduring for generations to come.”

Michelle comes from mixed heritage background, and grew up with with a Persian mother and a father from the East End. She spent her early life at an Orthodox Synagogue but her journey brought her to BRS as a teenager. It was there that she found a place where her heart and spirituality were at home. Where the Reform ethos of inclusivity and diversity, along with life long learning, the care and support of a community is ever present. Michelle is honoured to be Chair and feels BRS is a special place where there is tradition and respect of the past, but also enthusiasm and excitement for the future.
