How do you like to be known? Tina
Where do you live? Ightham (near Sevenoaks)
What are your Interests and Hobbies? I’m the eternal student and it’s one of the few things my old legs haven’t got too much in the way of. I’m very “out-doorsy” and we have a houseful of animals who take up a lot of our time, love and finances. I love live theatre and am very much of my era in that I still like going to live, loud gigs.
What is the nature of your current or previous employment? I was a language teacher (French and German), but had to take early retirement which I found extremely hard. I now satisfy the desire to teach and be involved with education by being Chair of Governors at my local primary school and by conducting the school visits to the Shul. In another existence I was also very involved with organising English language lessons for foreign students.
Are there any skills or interests you would be interested in participating in with other members? I find my physical limitations extremely frustrating and am usually loathe to put myself forward for many things because so much is active, but am always ready, willing and able to share my passion for books, studying, music and stroppy teenagers. I used to be active in amateur dramatics - acting, directing and writing - would love to see something in that vein at Bromley – any takers?
Family members? Husband, Neil, works in the City - our first Associate Member. Sons Arran (33) and Daniel (27). Arran is married to Lucy and they have made us happy grandparents to Ella (3 in September) and Toby Peter, newly born on 14 August - we love being Grumpy Grandpa and Omi. Arran is a psychiatric nurse and Lucy is a clinical child psychologist. Daniel is a criminal barrister, lives and works in London and has a lovely girlfriend called Rachel.
Is there any other information you would like to share with members? I revel in the welcome I have had at Shul and in the truly wonderful friends I have made - one of the few places I can be me.
