Please join us in the synagogue to learn from Rabbi Charles Wallach about the Balfour Declaration,  a singularly important document which in many ways was the very precursor to the establishment of the State of Israel.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, sent by Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild, Chair of the Zionist Federation, declaring British support for the establishment of a Jewish state.

Rabbi Charles Wallach, former Rabbi of Brighton & Hove Reform Synagogue and past member of the national executive of the Zionist Federation has made a study of the declaration, how it came about, the significance of its wording and reactions to it.
