This evening I had the privilege to join other faith leaders and stand behind the Mayor of London as he paid tribute to yesterday’s victims.
Terrorism aims to sow fear and division, but that was hardly the mood today. A large, diverse crowd defiantly showed up in Trafalgar Square to join with the Mayor and the Home Secretary for a vigil. The size and diversity of those in attendance reflect the size and diversity of London itself.
Yesterday’s attack took three lives, but it failed in many ways. London is neither afraid nor divided. Today was proof.
May we continue to work for and be blessed to live in a society that is respectful and just.
L’shalom, to peace,
Rabbi Jason Holtz
