This morning there were two nosh-fests at cheder (and that’s before they even started on the pizza etc at the youth club!).

First we had Israeli snacks during break to mark Yom Ha’Atzma’ut, which had been during the week dubbed by one enthusiastic pupil “Israel Appreciation Day”.  The photo below shows Cheder pupils, teachers and helpers enjoying  an extended break on 15 May, in order to enjoy Israeli food supplied and served by head teacher Vicki and Hooray Cheder in celebration of Yom Ha’Atzma’ut.

Then there was the bake sale, arranged by Benji and Galya in aid of Emma Mittelman’s Summer Hype camp.  Emma spoke to assembly, then there was the sale of very attractively presented cakes.   The photo below shows the organisers with some of the cakes they made to sell to fellow cheder pupils and their parents in aid of Summer Hype, the summer camp for disadvantaged inner-city youngsters founded and run by Emma Mittelman (far right) and friends.
